Non-Slip Mats

We all should know by now that the number one priority when it comes to furnishing our homes is safety. We should never forget how easy it is to have an accident caused by unstable furniture, slippery surfaces or cluttered floors. That is exactly why it is so important to make sure that everything is properly secured, including rugs. Many rugs come without any protective underlay, which prevents them from moving around, even if they do, those are usually not sufficient, so we should invest in additional safety measures. Non-slip mats are the cheapest and the most efficient solution to such a problem.

How Non-Slip Mats Work

Rug grippers are usually made from a rubbery, synthetic material of some sort. Their task is to create an additional source of friction, both on the rug’s and the floor’s side. Thanks to the additional friction the rug should stay in place, considering the average foot traffic. They should be thin enough not to elevate the carpet so much that it creates the risk of tripping over. Additionally, when it comes to thin, flat-weave rugs, rug grippers prevent clumping and wrinkling, significantly prolonging their longevity.
